Fleetwood has openings in our Furniture division on day shift and night shift this summer! We are looking for students who want to work day shift (6am-4:30pm) or on our night shifts (4:30pm-3:00am) full-time or part-time during the summer. We work Monday through Thursday with overtime being reserved for Fridays. We are able to offer full-time or part-time opportunities that are flexible depending on your needs and other commitments.

Candidates interested in working night shift would also receive a $1.25 per hour premium on top of the hourly wage.

No experience is needed, all necessary training will be provided to you. You can work individually or with small teams. Responsibilities can include fabrication of metal and wood materials, product inspection and cleaning, and product assembly.

The Finish position, under limited supervision, operates finish equipment to apply powder coat finishes to parts and components while meeting all necessary specifications and quality control standards. Understands the process of hang and de-hang.

We currently have a position open on Day Shift (Monday through Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm). There is also an opportunity for overtime on Friday's during our summer busy season.

Essential Functions:

  • Following Standard Work Instructions, operates powder coat controls and applies powder according to “Job Instruction”.
  • Understands the principles of hang/de-hang process.
  • Reads and interprets dimensions and other information from all types of drawings.
  • Completes daily and necessary paperwork.
  • Maintains a clean, safe working environment according to 5S and department safety guidelines.
  • Reads, understands, communicates, and interprets written and verbal instruction, work documentation, policies, and practices, etc., which are written in the English language.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example), or equivalent work experience demonstrating performance competency required.
  • Experience applying powder coat in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in and knowledge of accessing and using information system computer databases.

General Purpose:

This position would be responsible for the planning, delivery, quality, and inventory investments of all raw material and purchased products to support manufacturing needs and customer on time shipments.

Essential Functions:

· Assure raw and purchased material flow to manufacturing areas by coordinating and communicating with suppliers, other materials functions, production, engineering, etc.

· Develop and control inventory strategies and investments to support manufacturing needs while ensuring the best possible utilization of inventory space and dollars.

· Initiate and lead the development and implementation of new strategies relative to purchased materials management processes.

· Work with Product Engineers to represent material strategies, manufacturing needs in new product development and implementation as well as identify opportunities to reduce total material cost (i.e., part consolidation, part design).

· Work alongside the Quality Team to resolve quality related issues as well as overall supplier development.

· Communicate with Accounting to resolve pricing, transportation, setup charges, or other related invoicing issues.

· Perform other duties as requested to achieve business objectives.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience which demonstrates performance competency.

· Possesses an advanced understanding of material planning and other related functions (purchasing, scheduling, inventory control, bills of materials, routings, etc.).
