We currently have an opening for a Weld Technician II on day shift. Production runs from 6:00am-4:30pm Monday through Thursday. During the off season our production team gets a three day weekend and during our summer busy season there are opportunities for overtime!

General Purpose:

Responsible for organizing, performing, and developing welding processes as they relate to robotic and manual welding. Develops and maintains quality standards including product specifications and parts produced.

Essential Functions:

  • Create, modify, and document Fanuc welding and resistance programs while consistently maintaining welding parameters. Create any necessary weld data, torch angels, “stick-out”, starting techniques, and other robotic/welding variables.
  • Create, modify, and document programs for Lincoln welding equipment to produce welds that meet quality standards.
  • Document and maintain welding parameters on the Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) with assistance from engineering.
  • Responsible for set-up of jigs for automatic welding and manual welding.
  • Responsible for ensuring quality standards with first piece inspection process.
  • Validate process parameters and enter system deviations when applicable.
  • Analyze and determine proper weld sequence for cycle time and part dimensional improvements to reduce cycle time and ensure part consistency.
  • Read and interpret welding codes/specifications stated on part prints to ensure quality of parts.
  • Interpret weld cross sections, and etching samples and take appropriate corrective action.
  • Responsible for cross-training of weld standards across multiple shifts.
  • Manual weld as needed to support production.
  • Set-up and verify error proofing according to instructions.
  • Analyze gage and dimensional data to adjust weld fixture details to produce parts that meet dimensional requirements.
  • Develop weld destruct processes.
  • Assist and train operators and welders in determining weld quality with calipers, visual inspection, and destruct tests.
  • Oversee and provide leadership and technical support for 5S and lean objectives.
  • Assist in departmental measurable goals relating to customer concerns, cost of quality, cost savings, and safety.
  • Performs other duties as requested.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and GED
  • Associate degree in Welding Technology (or related field) or completion of college-based or apprenticeship-based welding program or Welding Certification or 7 years of equivalent experience.
  • Strong understanding of welding fundamentals with practical welding experience.
  • Ability to troubleshoot automated welding applications.
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance (PM) on weld fixtures, weld cells, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Proficiency with interpreting part prints and welding codes/specifications.
  • Ability to interpret dimensional layouts.
  • Ability to provide training/mentorship to for operators and welders as needed.
  • Computer Literacy.
  • An excellent work record, including attendance.

  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs. on a regular basis.

General Purpose:

Assembles of a wide variety of products and sub-assemblies using hand tools, jigs, fixtures, and air tools. Work is performed in a manufacturing setting at a standard rate of work to provide high quality products completed and delivered in a timely manner.                            

Essential Functions:

  • Assembles product using basic hand tools and techniques
  • Reads, understands, communicates, and interprets written and verbal instructions, work documentation, policies and practices, etc., which are written in the English language
  • Follows standard work methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible
  • Maintains a clean, safe working environment
  • Performs other duties as requested

Qualifications:

  • One of the following is required: (1) High school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example), (2) work experience which demonstrates performance competency

Skills and Abilities:

  • Competent in basic math skills such as counting, adding, and subtracting
  • Ability to work cooperatively within the team as well as with members of other teams to meet goals

Physical Demands

  • Must have to the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assist
  • Required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms for the duration of the shift
