Fleetwood Statement of Faith

We Believe...

  • that there is one God, He exists eternally as three persons ‐ Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is the creator and master of the universe. Humanity was created in God’s image but fell into sin. (Matthew 28:19; Genesis 1:1; Genesis 1:26a; Romans 3:23)

  • because of His great love for us, God sent Jesus Christ into the world to save sinners. Jesus was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He lived a holy, sinless life in perfect obedience to the Father. He willingly paid the price for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He arose from death and ascended into heaven. He will return again in power and glory. (John 3:16‐17; Luke 1:35; John 6:38‐40; 1 Corinthians 15:3‐4; Romans 8:34; John 14:3)

  • Jesus Christ is the one and only means of salvation for the world. Anyone who accepts and trusts in Him as their personal Lord and Savior is forgiven for their sins and promised everlasting life with God in heaven. (John 14:6; 1 Peter 3:18; Roman 10:9‐10; Colossians 1:13‐14)

  • God sent the Holy Spirit to convict the world of sin and to inspire Christians to live a Christ‐like life. The Holy Spirit empowers believers to serve and to love others, and to share the good news of Jesus Christ. (John 14:26; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:1‐4; Acts 2:36‐38)

  • the Bible is the inspired word of God, inerrant in its original writings and is His special revelation to us. The Bible is ultimate authority regarding what we believe and how we are to live. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20‐21)
